Actor Macaulay Culkin, the star of the Christmas movie Home Alone, received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Friday.

Actress Catherine O’Hara, who played his mom in the popular ’90s film, was present at the ceremony.

The role of Kevin McCallister catapulted the young actor to fame, and O’Hara highlighted his talent.

She credited him for the film’s success. It was directed by Chris Columbus and grossed $285 million worldwide.

Macaulay’s movie mom couldn’t hold back her tears.

Actress Natasha Lyonne also spoke at the ceremony honoring her friend, Macaulay Culkin.

She thanked the Home Alone star for the support he gave to her career as a director.

«The true beauty is seeing the adult you’ve become. The loving patriarch you are to your beautiful siblings, and now, the deep and loving father and husband that you are.»

A very emotional Culkin thanked his wife, Brenda Song, and ended his speech with his iconic Home Alone catchphrase.

Culkin’s career hit a stumbling block

Macaulay Culkin became a huge child star after playing Kevin McCallister in the two Home Alone films.

Afterward, he starred in movies like My Girl (1991) and The Good Son (1993).

He steeped away from acting for a while due to his parents’ divorce and their legal battle over custody of him and his brothers, as well as control of his fortune.

He struggled with substance abuse and other problems for several years.

Macaulay Culkin’s comeback

Culkin’s recent projects include TV shows such as Changeland (2019), American Horror Story (2021) and Entergalactic (2022).

Changeland is a dramedy written and directed by Seth Green, where Culkin plays the character Ian.

In American Horror Story, he starred as Mickey.
